I never really had dinner at school. We would all head out to the nearest fried chicken takeaway! I didn't have a favourite school dinner and I wouldn't have thought anyone would!! They were never that great.

I always remember asking for the skin of the custard, when we had it with cornflake tart, in primary school! The skin was the best bit! When they made pink or, even better, chocolate custard it was like all my birthdays had come at once! I always remember malted milk biscuits which I think had cows on! We had them at nursery at break! And whenever there was chicken drumsticks on the menu at primary school I always used to get called Lauren Drumstick because of my surname 'Drummond'! Our sweetie day was a Friday, I always remember Caramac's! I always used to have them after my swimming lesson!

I think it's great that the government are doing to make meals healthier. As long as they keep chicken drumsticks and chocolate fudge cake in there now and again, which I'm sure they will.

The worst was liver, plus a thing we called 'brick'. It was a dessert - I have no idea what it was, but it was very sweet. That was a bad combination, liver followed by Brick.

I was lucky enough to go to a school were the food was okay. But even so I used to chop and change a bit. So some terms I would bring a packed lunch while other terms I would have the school dinners. I went vegetarian for about year and a half when I was about 13 as again it made a change and the food was nice. The only thing that annoyed me about school dinners was we always had to have fish every Friday! Around the time I was in the sixth form as I lived near home I used to just roll out of bed and head straight off to school. So I never ate breakfast - I knew it was bad to eat nothing so on occasion I took one of my Mum's Slimfast drinks because it was quicker and better than having nothing at all!
