Memories Adam Thomas
I just think of science lessons when I think of school. And looking back science was the best lesson along with P.E. I did like being with my mates all day so I wish I could go back for a week just to see everyone again. I didn't enjoy school when I was there but looking back I had a good time, the best days so far! Although some of the teachers thought I was a waste of space, a class clown. Guess it paid off eh!

I used to be in all the school plays. I once put chewing gum on a teacher's chair - not very clever and I did get told off for truancy.
Chris Geere
We did a play/musical version of 'Gregory's Girl' when I was around 14. Great fun and we also got a lot of time of lessons to rehearse!
Christine Tremarco
When I was in senior school the Head allowed me and my friends to put on dance and singing shows at break time in the school hall. Other students would come and watch, it was so much fun, but we would perform Madonna routines rather a lot.
Denise Welch
I was on the "A list" of parties as my family had a sweet factory. My nickname was Truly Scrumptious! My father did a drag act by night which I kept secret - that would have taken me off the "A list"!
I really enjoyed school even though I didn't work hard whilst I was there. In fact when I look back at my school days I wish I had worked a bit harder. But school for me meant being with my mates standing on the radiators watching the boys go by. But it still irks me that I was never made a prefect. And I still get sweaty palms at the thought of double maths!

Generally I had a fun time and occasionally truanted. I was banned from going on a school trip to Blackpool once so I truanted and went to Blackpool for the whole day, whereas the other kids only went in the evening for their trip.

In the first week, Donaghue, the evil school skinhead was lining up little first years to be whipped with sticks and generally abused. I was only saved at the last minute by one of his henchman recognising me as "little Merrells". My brother was in the third year so I got to watch all my contemporaries get mildly tortured thanks to my 'bro' being a bit of a 'face'.

On one school trip to an amusement park, me and this other lad had a bet to see how many rides we could go on without being sick.

I had a fantastic time at school particularly my secondary school. I made friends there that I will keep for life. It was a lot of fun. I don't really wish I was back at school, even though I enjoyed it. But if I did have to go back I would choose to go back to years 10 and 11 they were the best as even though there were stressful times with exams we do have to go through them and I did enjoy those years.

I once get caught in the boy's toilet by my electronics teacher who wrote a note on every page in my journal. So every teacher who saw my book read it! My mum and dad didn't read it until a year later - I had a lot of explaining to do!
Lucy Dixon
I remember my headmaster who was also our science teacher was teaching us an experiment in our classroom. I was sat at my desk whilst he was tying a piece of string from one side of the classroom to the other. As I was leaning back on my chair by hair got caught in the piece of string and I was stuck. Everyone was laughing whilst he just got more angry with me and had to untangle my hair from the piece of string.
Shabana Bakhsh
We sprayed the R.E. class with silly string and threw the can out the window, which ended up hitting the teacher's car!

Whilst I was at school there was a craze for trading the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle cards. We all used to collect and trade them I remember one kid cried when I wouldn't trade one of my cards. After that, there was a diablo craze. I think the circus shop in town who sold them did rather well at that time!
