Could I Teach?

Adam Thomas (Donte)
I taught Drama on Saturdays, teaching 5 - 12yrs and 12 - 16yrs. It's very hard work. I don't know if I could do it full time. I don't have the patience. But if I did I would be the best teacher ever!

Angela Griffin (Kim)
I used to think I'd make a great teacher but having had 200 children on set, I've worked out that I would have been crap. Not enough patience. I've never had the opportunity to teach but If I did, I think I could only teach kids who wanted to be taught. I'd love to think I could inspire kids but I don't know what I would do if I had someone in my class who just wasn't interested.

Camilla Power (Lorna)
I really wouldn't be a good teacher in real life. I think I would be rubbish. I can tell my family off but I think I would definitely find fifteen year old girls really intimidating! Especially if they had bigger boobs than me.

Chris Geere (Matt)
No way.  I’d have no discipline whatsoever.  Probably spend most of my lessons talking about football and Big Brother.

Christine Tremarco (Davina)
Yes, I think I would consider teaching if I wasn't acting. I would love to teach and work with kids.

Denise Welch (Steph)
I have taught movement and drama to young kids at Watford Palace Theatre, but I don’t think I could teach long term.

Jamie Glover (Andrew)
I think I would make a good teacher but I don't know if I would have the stomach for it. I love imparting knowledge and learning and I do have a passion for learning. Not in a school like Waterloo Road though - it would be too hard. But if the students all wanted to be in the room then yes.

Jason Done (Tom)
Yeah - if it was drama. I, like Tom, could relate to the kids and not feel the need to patronise or belittle and respect their opinions and views. You get to stage in your life and sometimes it’s nice to be surrounded by the young as they have different viewpoints on life.

Jason Merrells (Jack)
I think I could teach certain things. I like to direct which is not dissimilar still.

Jill Halfpenny (Izzie)
I don't think I would be patient enough to be a teacher. But I do respect those that do teach as it’s a tough job.

Katie Griffiths (Chlo)
I think I could teach Drama but I'd have to work on my patience!

Lauren Drummond (Mika)
I know what I want to say but I'm not good at making it understandable. I wish I could get over that and I will hopefully, because I do love to teach and watch something develop. I would teach drama - it's the most fun and you can be creative. It wouldn't be like normal teaching - you don't need to be as strict. Plus it's the subject I know most about and I couldn't learn maths all over again just to teach it!

Nick Sidi (Roger)
I am not sure. I think I would be able to motivate the kids if it was something I felt passionate about. I think it's an incredibly important and tough job - the difficulty seems to be; how do you hang on to your passion and patience day in and day out!
