Episode 4.8

Super dramatic episode, but why did you have to get rid of Maxine? It won't be the same without her. Still looking forward to next week though.

Absolutely love Waterloo Road, best programme going! The Kelly's have made this series more interesting because one of them is always up to something. Love this series. I hated having to wait a year for it to come back on but it’s worth the wait.
Kelly, Cleveland

This is like my second review, but boy you keep giving me a reason to come back! I LOVE WR! Today’s episode (4.8) was great at best and shocking at the least. What an unexpected ending?! Mixed Emotions throughout and the scene with the 3day old baby was powerful. But dont sack Ms. Mason, she’s an incredible actress! Core character of WR! Props to Chlo, Marley, Sam, Rachael, Eddie, Donte, and Janeece for their convincing performances and consistently great acting! Roll on Wednesday!

Oh my Gosh! I can't believe that Maxine is gone and Earl is gone! He was so lovely when he was with her but his mind was just a bit toooo wrong. I loved him though and I really thought they were good together especially when running circles around Steph; brought a bit of excitement to their relationship! He is sooooo good looking too... my my. But Maxine gone, who’s gonna be the rebellious teenage girl now? Boy, did I cry today... felt so sorry for Steph. The shooting scene was great! Reece Noi definitely played that role well, can't wait to see him on TV again. I will soooo miss Earl and Maxine... esp Earl ;)

I have enjoyed watching all episodes but I do feel that Episode 8 [25 Feb] was a bit too heavy and violent. But this follows Episode 1 with the young boy with the gun! As for the last episode, I will miss Maxine in the forthcoming series, I was quite saddened by her death. It was an emotional end! Doesn't this also illustrate the gun culture that we now have? Perhaps they should include one to illustrate our growing knife culture or is this too demanding? Oh! Well, I'm having an Asperger's moment; this is only a TV Drama series!

I quite like seeing the Geordie security guard, he is hilarious! The one who flirts with Denise Welch. It would be nice to see more of him.

I have High Functioning Autism or Asperger's Syndrome. The Aspie girl, Karla is really amusing as I am mildly autistic and view the world and others in my own logical way as Karla does, however, I am more obsessive, talk about intellectual things and find it hard to instinctively understand non verbal cues during social situations or make friends. I would like to see more of Karla :)

Last night’s show was bloody excellent!! I was crying loads!! The acting was absolutely superb. I really enjoyed it

Wow is all I’ve got to say. Waterloo Road is a fantastic programme and I’m glued to the TV on Wednesday nights. Yesterday’s episode had me in tears (25/02/09). So shocked. Thank you for a excellent programme. Buying the whole of Waterloo Road on DVD. Don’t stop making it!!
Tara Marie, Swindon

Oh my goodness! We love Waterloo Road!! Last night's episode was so unexpected, and we cried (but our friend didn’t) when earl shot max :'( Donte and Chlo will be such good parents x

I really am hooked on Waterloo Road, but after my two favourite characters have been lost (Earl Kelly and Maxine Barlow) I don’t feel as if I am going to be as fond of it anymore. I just wish that Maxine didn’t get killed off, and Earl arrested, then I would still probably watch it.
Phil, England

Oh no Maxine died! :( I cried, it was awful, but somehow I still can't bring myself to hate earl.
Fran, Wakefield

Episode 8 was soooo sad!! Brilliantly acted by all involved, especially Ellie Paskell!! She is a brilliant actress and Maxine was a fab character, she will be much missed. Two brilliant partnerships have now sadly ended: Max and Steph and Max and Janecce! It just won’t be the same without Max

Fantastic Episode last night (Wed 25th Feb).  Wasn't expecting that outcome - extremely well acted, as always.  Well done!!!
Louise, Corsham

I don't think killing off Maxine was a good idea, if she wanted to leave she could have just driven off in a taxi or something but now she's dead she can never come back. I was very upset, I liked her and I didn’t think he'd actually shot her at first and I couldn’t believe that she was dead until they actually carried her out in a bag. Good acting from Ellie Paskell though, shame we won't see more of it.

WOW! Maxine and Earl’s story, what OUTSTANDING actors. Well done the writers, you certainly show up the soaps at the moment. Cannot wait for next episode. So glad that we’re not half way through yet. Never a disappointing episode, thank you.
Lyn, Cambridge

A truly outstanding episode. The acting was faultless - especially from Denise Welch, Reece Noi, Ellis Paskell and Chelsee Healy. I can't commend this episode too much. The build up was handled brilliantly with the missed opportunities subtly pointed out such as when Steph couldn't get out with the car. Now I'm a hard hearted soul but that episode, especially the final scenes, brought a lump to my throat and tear to my eyes. BRILLIANT 100 out of 10!

Waterloo Road is fantastic, it has really made great viewing for me and I would be devastated if I missed one episode! Eva Pope & Elaine Symons are doing an amazing job as Rachel & Rose, I think both characters are so strong and feisty both trying to prove themselves. The Kellys are great characters too I'm just sad that it's the end of Maxine she was a great character too! I'm really loving Waterloo Road at the moment, it’s almost as if it's real - Keep up the good work!

This has to be to be the saddest episode of Waterloo road EVER! I can't believe Maxine is dead and the scenes leading up to it were some of the heart wrenching ever. I couldn't believe it when we found out Earl had a baby. I genuinely thought he wanted a baby to give it a great home and life something that neither he nor Maxine had growing up. I also cannot believe Rob, I hated him at the beginning of this series and changed my mind about him but he's a bully and Jasmine is stupid for sticking up for him. Poor Davina! She deserves a proper apology from Jas when she finds out. Can’t wait for next week’s episode.
Amy, Oldham

Oh my god!! I'm going to miss Max. Well done to the actors involved in that scene. I was even crying!! I hope that they lock Earl Kelly up and throw away the key!! I hope that the baby gets a nice home too. I really don't want Rachel to leave she is brilliant. Keep up the good work!!
Terri, Hastings

4.8 has got to be one of the most heart wrenching episodes I have watched, with brilliant acting from such brilliant stars.  Ellie Paskell, Reece Noi, Denise Welch and Chelsee Healey should be up for an award.  I haven't cried so much in ages I even felt sorry for Earl Kelly at the end because you finally saw him for what he was - "just a little boy". Can't wait for next week’s episode.
Tasha, London

I love Waterloo Road and never miss an episode. I couldn't believe Jasmine didn’t believe Davina when she said Rob was bullying Bolton. I was so glad that Maxine broke up with Earl; I knew he was trouble from the start. At the end I cried buckets. I feel so so sorry for Steph and Janeece and can't believe Maxine's gone. xxx
Kay, Yorkshire

Fantastic! I had tears in my eyes at the very end - it was the devastation and despair on Steph's face that really got to me. It was written and directed brilliantly; it's going to be weird not seeing Maxine on Waterloo Road now.

I thought that this series was a little slow starting... and have to admit that I wasn’t as impressed as previous series. But has got much better! Looking forward to Wednesday’s programme!
Rebecca, Manchester

Episode 4.8 was incredible.  Me and my husband were in floods of tears while managing to feel a level of sympathy for Earl seeing how messed up he was. Well done Waterloo road you kept us guessing and sent us an emotional roller coaster.  The best programme on TV.
Megan, Newcastle

I would like to congratulate all involved with Waterloo Road for an outstanding drama - by far the best offering on TV at present. Fantastic story lines, stunning acting (the actor who plays Earl Kelly deserves award after award for his portrayal of a very complex character) and great scripts.  It's actually hard to pick out one character for praise as every member of the cast is totally believable - and the Kelly family's addition has been fantastic. I have never taken time out to write to a TV show before but I was so impressed by last week's hard-hitting episode (and the entire series) that I wanted you to know how brilliant a job you are all doing. THANK YOU! Can't wait for the next episode.
Jackie, Gloucestershire

Last week’s episode was really explosive. Reece Noi who plays Earl is sooo believable as a full of angst pupil. I think he will go far in his acting career. Ellie Paskell was also brilliant. I didn’t foresee the end as I couldn’t in the episode with the gun in school. I was on the edge of my seat both times. Well done to all the characters, Steph, Dave, Mr Wiggy, Neil Morrisey (phwoar) Oh all of them. They all make it a fantastic nights viewing. Keep up the good work everybody and thank you for the tears and laughter. Well done the crew and producers and writers. Pats on the back all round me thinks. xx
Sandra, Kent

Hi I'm a 41 year old wife & Mother going back to school. I never miss Waterloo Road & enjoy where the program tackles really "sticky" issues. I felt moved to send this message by the most recent episode I think the actors playing Maxine & Earl are fantastic I'm devastated that Maxine has left the program as her character is fantastic. But Denise Welsh was fabulous I found myself in tears with her character. I'm proud to be a Geordie as Denise is a credit to us. Keep up the fab work, Denise.
Lesley, Hartlepool

I am loving Waterloo Road I have to tell ya! This must be the best series yet, big congrats to the writers. The story lines are mesmerising and you can’t help but care for the characters and the scene when Maxine got shot, I swear I was on tenterhooks! Not forgetting big kudos to the actors as well who create such chemistry between the characters. Simply can’t wait for the next episode!!
Jean, London

I have been teaching for more than 35 years, much of that time in an inner city school. Congratulations to the Beeb for such an accurate account of what life can be like - both inside and outside school. Many will think Waterloo Road is just good old drama but trust me it's very accurate and true to life - great cast, excellent story lines, long may it continue!
