He's become more comfortable in the job and realised he has a real desire to stay as head and really make a difference.

A NEW INVESTOR HAS STAKED A LOT OF MONEY IN TO WATERLOO ROAD IN RETURN FOR HAVING THE SCHOOL RENAMED AS AN ACADEMY IN HIS HONOUR. HOW DOES JACK DEAL WITH THIS NEW INTRUSION?
Jack is happy for the potential funding.

DOES JACK GET ALONG WITH ROGER?
At first they do not click, but Jack grinds his teeth and gets on with it. However, he doesn't expect Roger to be as involved in the running of the school as he soon becomes. Eventually Roger attempts a coup.

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON ACADEMY TRUST SCHOOLS?
I don't really trust them. I believe that there are certain things that should be run without the influence of the marketplace, education is one of them.

STEPH WAS VERY PLEASED TO BE ABLE TO COME TO JACK'S RESCUE AT THE END OF LAST SERIES - DOES JACK FEEL OBLIGED TO SPEND MORE TIME WITH HER?
Jack gets off with Steph for comfort when he feels low, he treats her pretty shabbily, but she doesn't seem to mind. In a way they are similar, but soon Jack will fall in love elsewhere.

JACK HAS A NEW LOVE THIS SERIES - TELL US ABOUT HER:
She is Davina Shackleton. She is blonde, beautiful, capable, confident and strong. Jack is suspicious at first, but quickly falls completely.

DO YOU THINK IT IS A FLING OR IS IT MORE SERIOUS?
It is serious for him; he is divorced and tired of playing the field.

BULLYING IS AN ISSUE THIS SERIES. IS JACK INVOLVED?
Jack has to expel a girl for intimidation using a hate website.

HAVE YOU EVER HAD TO GIVE ADVICE IN REGARDS TO BULLYING:
Ideally you have to stand up for yourself, but this is not always possible, but you have to tell someone.

WHAT HAVE YOU ENJOYED MOST ABOUT RECORDING WATERLOO ROAD?
Just the cast which is great, it is what attracted me to the part and what has kept me here. We have a good laugh.

DO YOU THINK IT IS IMPORTANT FOR TELEVISION PROGRAMS TO ILLUSTRATE THESE ISSUES, ESPECIALLY WITHIN EDUCATION? EXPLAIN:
I think it is. Our storyline concerning academies is very current. The truth is often more shocking, I recently heard of an academy school in London that tracks children in and out by bar codes on their exercise books.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE STORYLINE THIS SERIES?
Jack and Davina, it's been fun to play.

WHAT DID YOU DO BETWEEN SERIES? HOLIDAY, OTHER JOBS ETC
A myriad of personal things.

DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER PROJECTS LINED UP AFTER WATERLOO ROAD HAS FINISHED FILMING?
Christmas.

Jack has a small desk top figurine of a Spartan athlete that has been on his desk since the beginning (God knows why ask the Art Dept) It has become a bit of a joke, I would take that.

Yes, it has become my second home.
