Josh is a fairly average lad. He grew up with his mother Georgia and their status as a single-parent family has made Josh fiercely defensive of her, perhaps rendering him a little over-sensitive to ridicule. Josh rejects more macho pursuits like sport and football in favour of music and is a capable, if not utterly dedicated, student.

Last term saw him reunited with father Tom and it was a long road for Josh to be able to trust the dad he had always assumed abandoned them. Now as father and son find themselves living under the same roof Josh is starting to enjoy their close bond. With Tom reluctant to bring in discipline Josh is riding high on how his dad is actually more of a best mate. As he gets enticed into Finn’s rule breaking Josh finds the boundaries of acceptability blurred and when Tom finally does crack down he’ll find it hard to take – eventually making a mistake which threatens to destroy everything he and his father have achieved.
