Amy Porter

Amy Porter

Played by
Ayesha Gwilt

Siobhan’s best friend Amy Porter is from a loving, warm, but strict home.  She’s a natural leader with a rebellious streak and loves the drama of confrontation.  There isn’t an argument Amy will shy away from or an opportunity she’ll miss to take offence. Amy was one of the first to join the girl gangs and eagerly took over the leadership position after Lindsay became distracted by her mother’s trial. Amy is wilful, spiteful and prepared to get creative if it means getting her own way – her Machiavellian resolve often lands Amy and best mate Siobhan in difficulty. If there’s trouble brewing anywhere, Amy’s likely to be involved at the heart of it and whilst she is often sorry for her actions, she’s liable to repeat her mistakes. Kim and Rachel despair about how best to correct her manipulative behaviour.

Feeling exposed after her part in last term’s girl gang activity earned her the condemnation of her peers; Amy can’t help her attraction to magnetic Finn – sensing a kindred loner spirit. Finn, spotting Amy as a fellow outsider, wastes no time manoeuvring his way into her troubled head. Slowly stripping away her friendship with Siobhan, Finn begins to influence Amy’s behaviour – very much in control of the relationship. The two get closer as Finn’s ability to cause trouble at school injects some much needed excitement into Amy’s life. She can’t help but fall – hard. Soon they get embroiled in ever bolder stunts both in and out of school and as the stakes are raised Amy is drawn in deeper. She is obsessed – doing whatever it takes and enduring any cruel behaviour on his part, in order to stay with Finn – it always seems worth it when followed by the high of being his special girl again. In short, she’s addicted and as term comes to a close she’ll realise just how dangerous that addiction can be.
